NeuroTech Harbor's NeuroTalk Podcast

It was great being able to talk about the ins and outs of where the academic spinout expectation meets reality on this podcast.

I commend the NIH's Blueprint MedTech program team and NeuroTech Harbor for bringing more investor perspective to the table to support translation, productization, and entrepreneurialism at biomedical engineering innovation hubs in neurotech.

I've often found that academic institutions can, while having very good intentions, completely miss the mark on how they advise and guide their inventors - almost as if there's a prescriptive pitch that's guaranteed to grab investor or strategic attention. The real answer to assessing whether or not (and how) a tech should be translated goes way beyond a set of pitch deck slides and market research.

I'm grateful that the hubs on the East Coast have involved me over the past three and a half years to help illuminate these intangible gaps. These gaps can't addressed in templated market slides or a regulatory gap analysis; it goes way beyond that, which I dig into here!

Thanks to Dr. Linda Durnell and NeuroTech Harbor (NTH) for having me on the podcast!
